The story of why we make chili

True Primal Beef Chili is our twist on one of the most familiar comfort foods in the pantry—rebuilt from the ground up to align with modern health needs, ethical sourcing standards, and a more mindful approach to convenience.

In today’s packaged food landscape, chili is typically defined by compromise: low-quality meat, inexpensive fillers like beans and starches, industrial seed oils, and long lists of stabilizers and flavor enhancers to improve the palatability of cheap ingredients. Rather than attempting to incrementally improve this model, we took a totally different approach: asking what chili would look like if it were designed first and foremost around nourishment, ingredient integrity, and biological alignment.

The result is a bean-free, grain-free, filler-free chili made entirely from consciously sourced ingredients, while also being shelf stable and ready to eat.

At the heart of our chili is 100% grass-fed, free-range beef from cattle raised in open pastures in regenerative farming systems. The beef is also certified Step 4 by the Global Animal Partnership, an audit-verified labeling program assuring humane living conditions and high welfare standards. Grass-fed beef delivers superior micronutrient and fatty acid profiles relative to conventional meat, and reflects our commitment to sourcing ingredients that prioritize both animal and human health.

We pair this premium-quality meat with organic tomatoes, organic onions, and a curated blend of mild organic spices, creating a savory chili experience built entirely from real foods. By selecting ingredients that are deeply flavorful on their own, our chili has no need for added sugar, oils, yeast extracts, or protein isolates that are almost universally present in other shelf-stable chili. Instead, we rely on traditional food principles and high-quality sourcing to achieve both flavor and functionality.

Our chili’s shelf-stability is also part of its innovation. While most ready-to-eat chili is sold in cans, we package ours in flexible BPA-free pouches that overall use up less material weight and energy during production and shipping. This format makes nutrient-dense, ethically sourced food accessible in situations where it’s typically unavailable: travel, outdoor environments, emergency preparedness, or simply time-constrained daily life.

Our philosophy is simple but rigorous: choose ingredients with long histories of supporting human health, avoid synthetic and highly processed additives, and never sacrifice ethical standards for any of our ingredients or processes. Our beef chili is a culmination of these principles.
